leaving 2016 in the dust

While reviewing the Call Mom journey from our humble beginnings 10 some years ago we are in blissful awe of what we got to experience along the way by the Grace of God. From empowering startup food banks and thrift stores around the country and beyond, to the ever evolving school supply, book, and coat drive, irrigation pumps for women in rural areas to cultivate community gardens, livestock to orphanages, scholarships for the under-served, ever expanding resources, cultural immersions and partnering with generous souls etc. pales in comparison to our biggest success, the one on one human connection, the grassroots communities. When we can talk (not text or email) woman to woman, single parent to single parent, we can draw from our combined experiences to recover the hidden brilliance in our moms without the one winner-only-mentality. We love to hear your stories that are being cultivated from devastating heartbreak to "believing is seeing”. You are the peat-moss, you have the seed, and we just water with abundant living water and watch the dream become a reality.
Here are some seeds for 2017 that produce a sweet harvest:
truth
honor
integrity
humility
gratitude
forgiveness
authenticity

pull the weeds:
ego vulgaris
greed altissima
gossip hybridum
judging bulleyana

2017 is going to be a
fabulous year! Make your life sparkle.

2015 to the *gl*itter end

To summarize the best of 2015 for CALL MOM into a short paragraph is always a challenge and exciting because of endless opportunities and victories.
We usually start with a bleak issue. As we dismantle barriers and stigmas towards the light at the end of the tunnel, we plant our flag and stake our territory.
The evolution of several projects recorded in the blog don't do the partnering with many  charitable individuals justice. The evolution of emotional stability when somebody cares enough to listen with respect is the vital human connection you can not get by referring someone to a website, dismissive advice, or hand them a book to read.

A gift and a challenge for you to engage in 2016.

A single, military mom, had to relinquish custody of her daughter to her ex-husband when she deployed. She had the fight of her life to be reunited with her daughter when her ex argued in court that he could offer a more stable environment.
 Reach out! Stand with her.

A 18 year old who aged out of Foster Care wanted a family.
Reach out! Mentor her/him.

On New Years eve a 21 year old mom was left with 5 babies so her friends could get a (financial) break and have fun.
Reach out! Integrate the vulnerable around you to offer non -judgmental support.

Moms, don't wait until the knot at the end of your, or your friends rope frays and causes you to free-fall. Reach out!
Text, email, call. Be pro-active. There is no shame in being authentic and needing help on occasion.

We DO get it.
Hugs,
Mom

Happy, merry, blessed 2015

A few girls had the need to go to the movies to see a chick flick.

As we passed the tissues to dab away the tears that wrecked our mascara we felt like silly ninnies for getting caught up in the emotions of characters in a movie, and strangely more human because we related with empathy in spite of it being a movie.

Being "human" connects us with humanity on a deeper, spiritual level. It transcends the competitive bars and masks of religion, class, color, condition, education, culture, fashion, money, age, gender, etc. and inter connects us all at the core in real time. Once we mature to value ourselves and others as humans we cease to be whatchamacallits, human "resource/commodity", a body, chattel, superior, dispensable. We live and let live. We respect and honor all humans (including ourselves) without self righteous judgment.

2014 has been an exciting and productive year collaborating with you. Together, we have gotten good at keeping our interactions divinely human and authentic. Here at Call Mom, we look forward to another year of simplifying our outreach with a sincere desire to helping each other build better lives.

Hugs,
Mom
