pulpit bullies and shaming

Eleanor Roosevelt:" What we need in the world is manners.... I think that if instead of preaching brotherly love, we preached good manners, we might get a little further. It sounds less righteous and more practical".

It takes character to take ownership of an offense and offer a real apology.

tipping un-holy cows:
a person with core values does not have to extinguish someone else's candle to make theirs look brighter. Eventually their mask will be torn off and they receive what they are focusing on. Keep focusing on gratitude and being a genuine vs a virtual blessing. Offensive comments on social media are made by bullies/cowards to their virtual audience. Blow away the chaff.

it's all about freedom

In the days of innocence, freedom meant, family picnics, aunts leaving lipstick on your cheek, tons of yummy food, water balloons, sparklers and fireworks
then,
freedom to make choices........ with the pesky responsibility issue, bending the rules, and fireworks
then,
a day off from work, and fireworks
then,
freedom from complicity of exploitation and disposability, no fireworks, just escaping hell fire
then,
freedom to be authentic, celebrating it, awareness, community picnics, tons of yummy food, and spectacular fireworks

In God we trust

"Suppose a nation in some distant Region should take the Bible for their only law Book, and every member should regulate his conduct by the precepts there exhibited! Every member would be obliged in conscience, to temperance, frugality, and industry; to justice, kindness, and charity towards his fellow men; and to piety, love, and reverence toward Almighty God ... What a Utopia, what a Paradise would this region be."
John Adams 2nd U.S. President and Signer of the Declaration of Independence
