feeling IRISH today?

Traditionally " St. Patty's" day is a excuse to get sloshed; eat some corned beef with cabbage; watch a blarney movie or a parade with the kids.
Having met some authentic Irish folk, the Saint Patrick Day celebrations go way, way deeper into a history that shaped the culture of the Irish people.

It begins with: "Throughout the Famine years, nearly a million Irish arrived in the United States. Famine immigrants were the first big wave of poor refugees ever to arrive in the U.S. and Americans were simply overwhelmed. Upon arrival in America, the Irish found the going to be quite tough. With no one to help them, they immediately settled into the lowest rung of society and waged a daily battle for survival."

With millions of children in the US living in poverty single moms are faced with the longest compassion famine in history. Step up to the plate, revelers.

This year let's celebrate the Irish with respect. Share your pot of gold with a struggling family, and for the Irish's sake, drop some "green" in their pockets.  It will bring you luck, I guarantee it.
