Child support is a financial responsibility and consequence to balance the economic loss and added expense to the children when one party choses the "easy" way out.


Many of the calls we get here are relevant to poverty, specifically child support. Selective ignorance, arrogance, justifying, and cruelty bewilder me regardless of the educational level the "expert" claims to have.


Most recent, common text: " I give her* (wife with 5 children between 6 and 16) what I can. She can't possibly spend $300 on clothes and food for the kids every month." Responses from other "expert" critics chiming in without lifting a finger are equally insulting.


Nobody goes into a marriage, has 5 children, anticipating a consequence of being thrown to the curb along with the children, when "Mr. Wonderful" abdicates to have his ego and wallet stroked with shallow entertainment and a life of no consequence. His dating budget and time has to come from somewhere....


This is a touchy subject with me. (as you can tell) Rustling with a pig was never my style.

Black Friday and Cyber Monday could pay off big with a little strategic planning.

Last year some moms got together with researched lists of what they wanted to purchase, divided the list to team members with assigned stores, down to floor plan and location of items (since some prized items were bait and limited) and a time limit.
Kids were all pooled in one home to share a sitter.

Amazing how free tax services have populated our area over the years. Here are the top two recommendations:

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance
The VITA Program offers free tax help to low- to moderate-income (generally, $45,000 and below) people who cannot prepare their own tax returns. Certified volunteers sponsored by various organizations receive training to help prepare basic tax returns in communities across the country. VITA sites are generally located at community and neighborhood centers, libraries, schools, shopping malls, and other convenient locations. Most locations also offer free electronic filing. To locate the nearest VITA site, call 1-800-829-1040.

what a boring subject, or is it? Many of "my" moms still have guilt feelings about justifying a purchase they did not need or vaguely wanted. Some of us tried to teach our children fundamentals like budgeting. Since moms at any age are dinosaurs, a third party may be more undemanding.
