Join in the festivities and experience the joy at the annual H‑E‑B Feast of Sharing holiday dinner. The Feast of Sharing is the culmination of a year‑round commitment H‑E‑B makes to fighting hunger. In addition to a holiday meal you can enjoy music, arts and crafts, and kids activities‑even an appearance by Santa himself.

don't eat alone this Thanksgiving

The Salvation Army's traditional Thanksgiving dinner will be held at the Colorado Convention Center at 700 14th Street in Denver. Use the Exhibit Hall B entrance on Welton Street, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday.
King Soopers donated more than 7,000 pounds of food for the meal. There will also be 375 warm coats available for adults in need.
Volunteers of America will serve a walk-in dinner from 10 a.m. to noon at 1520 20th St., across from Coors Field.
• Rosa Linda’s Mexican Cafe, 2005 W. 33rd Ave. in Denver, will serve a nontraditional meal of turkey, green chile, rice, beans and more for the 30th straight year from 10 a.m to 3 p.m.
• Senior Support Services, 846 E. 18th Ave. in Denver, will provide meals to homeless and low-income individuals who are 55 and older from 1 to 3 p.m.
• The First Presbyterian Church of Boulder, 1820 15th St., will host a meal from 1 to 3 p.m.
• Associated Veterans of Loveland, 305 N. Cleveland Ave., will offer meals for veterans, their families and anyone in need from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Old Chicago, 1805 Industrial Circle in Longmont, will team up with the Outreach United Resource Center to offer a free turkey meal with trimmings from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. A shuttle will run every 15 minutes between the restaurant and OUR Hospitality Center, 250 Third Ave.

JCPenney will be opening stores at 3PM Thanksgiving day until 5PM. If you're heading to JCPenney you may want to get there early as they will be handing out coupons with mystery discounts, including some $500 Off $500+ coupons! The smallest coupon is $10 Off $10 which is still a great discount when combined with sale prices.

Are you missing a turkey?

Food Banks have been gearing up for Thanksgiving. In case your missed signing up, you still can call and have a family Thanksgiving meal.

A volunteer took a call from a former mom to help deliver turkeys. She used to go in with several other single mom families from work to buy a ham that came with a free turkey. Ham $12 divided between 4 families ($3 each), Turkey free, divided between 4 families. Four families ate traditional meals for $3 and leftovers. That's community.

Turkey bones can be boiled in gallon stockpot with celery (the parts you normally throw away), onion, carrots, garlic, pepper... drain, debone, refrigerate. Skim off fat and use stock in soups and stews. Bone soup is very healthy and tasty.

Ham bone, same as above. throw in a handful of lentils (99c a bag or free from food bank) or beans, or split peas with potatoes and some carrots and serve with some crusty french bread or corn bread.
