Call Mom had many
requests for information on how to deal with Christmas on a limited (let's be
honest...no disposable income) Not only is it difficult to make ends meet, ends
don't even wave to each other. HOWEVER, there are still options coping with
your first Christmas after the "loss".
It is still time to contact the
following resources to get help:
Toys for Tots is a program run by the United States Marine Corps
Reserve which distributes toys to children whose parents cannot afford to buy
them gifts for Christmas.
Wheat
Ridge residents: Throughout this past year, as Wheat Ridge police
officers connected with local families, names were added to
the list for Operation Blue Santa. The Optimist Club will wrap these
and other toys collected this season on Friday, December 16 from 4-6:30
p.m. at Wheat Ridge City Hall, 7500 W. 29th Ave. To volunteer for the gift
wrapping, call 720.589.1596. Wheat Ridge police officers will deliver Operation
Blue Santa toys and gift cards on Saturday, December 17, 2016.

We used to deliver fake Christmas trees (in blizzard conditions) I am sure it is still practiced in places, but, you have to ask. There is no shame in being vulnerable and needing a hand up now and then. We love you all and are here to help! No secret handshake required.
